...das haben auch Sarah, Lucia, Daniel, Luke, Ute, Carsten und David erfahren, als sie uns am Tag des "Kleinen Finales" besucht haben. Nocheinmal ging es raus und wir verteilten viele Sonderkriegsrufe am Stadion, in der Stadt und in Briefkästen in der Nachbarschaft vom Korps verteilt.
Zwischendurch haben wir auch einen Blick auf einen der Mannschaftsbusse erhaschen können.
Abends haben wir uns das Spiel um Platz 3 angeschaut und dann ein bissle den dritten Platz gefeiert.

Sarah, Lucia, Daniel, Luke, Ute, Carsten and David surely have found that out too, when they visited us on Saturday. We distributed the special war cries at the stadion, in the city and in the letter boxes in the neighborhood of the corps.
In between, we catched a glimps of one of the team-busses.
In the evening we saw the match of place 3 and than we celebrated a bit.

Der Abschied / Farewell

Am letzten gemeinsamen Tag schauten Anderssons vorbei; leider aber so kurz, dass wir nicht zum Fotografieren kamen. Abends hatten wir noch eine Freiversammlung mit einigen Interviews und Musikstücken. Einige Schlachtenbummler blieben stehen und hörten zu, andere nahmen unsere Zeitschrift mit.

On our last day together, Anderssons came to Stuttgart; but unfortunately they stayed not long enough for a photo. In the evening we had an open-air-meeting with interviews and music. Some fans stayed and listened, others took (at least) the war cry.

Auf seiner Jacke steht "Jesus lebt" - ein bewegtes Zeugnis.

Hinterher hatten wir noch ein letztes gemeinsames Abendessen, das sehr lecker war. Anschliessend gab es eine große Dankeschön-Runde an alle, die die gemeinsame Zeit ermöglicht haben. Später schauten wir uns noch ein paar Bilder und Filme aus unserer gemeinsamen Zeit an, was sehr lustig war :-)

Afterwards we had a last supper, which was really great. Then there was a big thank-you-to-all, who made this time possible. Later, we watched some photos and movies of that time, which was very funny ;-)

Nun ist unser lettisch-schwedisches Team leider wieder zuhause oder zumindest unterwegs dorthin.Schade... Wir hätten euch ja gerne adoptiert, aber leider geht das ja nicht so einfach. So bleibt uns nur, euch ganz fett Gottes Segen zu wünschen und uns für euren täglichen Einsatz hier zu danken. Dank euch, Major Bartnik und Gisela konnten wir seit Beginn der WM rund 4000 KR verteilen! :-) Und soweit wir es gesehen haben, sind nicht vieleauf dem Boden gelandet ;-) Es war klasse, dass ihr so unermüdlich KRs verteilt und mit Leuten gesprochen habt - auch wenn es bestimmt nicht immer einfach war (allein schon wegen der Sprache)! Einfach SUPER! DANKE!

Now, our latvian-swedish Team is at home - or at least on the road.... It is a pity, we would have really liked to adopt you, but it is not that easy... So we can only wish you Gods richest blessings and to thank you for your daily service. Thanks to you, Major Bartnik and Gisela we have distributed about 4000 warcries since the games started! :-) And as far as we saw, not many were thrown away ;-) It was really great, that you distributed the war cries so unrestlingly and spoke with people - although it was not always easy (just thinking about the language)!

Am Sonntag hat das Team mit uns noch einmal die Versammlung erlebt. Danach hat Bruder D. Bernlöhr spontan eine Fahrt zum "Monte Scherbelino" organisiert. Wir hatten dort eine tolle Aussicht über die ganze Stadt. Nach dem Essen sind wir dann zum Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion gefahren, wo wir Kriegsrufe verteilt haben. Hinterher haben wir es uns im Saal bei Knabbereien, Kartenspiel ("Amen!") und dem Fussballspiel England-Ecuador gemütlich gemacht.

Sunday, we had the meeting together with the team. Afterwards, Br. D. Bernlöhr organized spontanously a drive to "Monte Scherbelino" (a famous hill in Stuttgart, with bricks of WWII). We had a great view over the whole city. After lunch, we went to the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion(football), where we distributed warcries. Afterwards, we had a nice time in the hall together with something to eat, card game ("Amen!") and the match England-Ecuador.

Zu Besuch im Männerheim / A visit at the mens hostel

Letzte Woche hatte das Team die Gelegenheit, einen Abstecher im Männerheim zu machen und es zu besichtigen.
Wir möchten uns an dieser Stelle auch ganz herzlich beim Heim bedanken, dass sie uns die ganze Zeit mit Mittagessen versorgt hat. Es gab immer genug für alle :-)

Last week, the team had the opportunity, to visit the mens hostel.
Thanks to mens hostel at this place, for providing us each day with lunch. There has always been enough for all. :-)

Grillabend / BBQ-night

Gestern abend hatten wir einen schönen, entspannten Grillabend bei unserem Kapellmeister und seiner Frau. Es hat sehr lecker geschmeckt :-) Und da man schon in Köln weiss, wie gut das Essen hier schmeckt, hat Odd Berg mit seiner Frau auch vorbeigeschaut. Bei einem Tischtennismatch konnten wir dann wieder ein bisschen von dem leckeren Essen ab"trainieren". ;-)

Last night, we had a nice, relaxing BBQ-night at our bandmaster and his wife. It was really great :-). And as it is already known in Cologne, that food is good here, Odd Berg and his wife dropped in. At the tabletennismatch, we were able to loose some of the kilos we just gained. ;-) A big "Thank you" for the hospitality" :-))

Schwedenabend in der City Chapel / Swedish Night at City Chapel

Unser Team war gestern abend in der kickoff:base City Chapel und hat Schweden vorgestellt. Es gab ein lustiges Quiz mit witzigen Preisen ("Wer gewinnt das Match heute abend?" "Schweden!" ;-) ), ein schwedisches Volkslied - und natürlich die Übertragung des Fussballspiels.

Yesterday, our team was in the kickoff:base City Chapel and introduced Sweden. There was a funny quiz with interesting prices ("Who will win tonights match?" - "Sweden!";-) ), a swedish song - and of course the broadcasting of the match.

deutsch-schwedisch-lettische Anbetungszeit... german-swedish-latvian worship...

Hier singt unsre Gruppe aus Schweden und Lettland ein schwedisches Lied (leider haben wir nicht viel davon verstanden). Here our Swedish-latvian Group sings a swedish Song (unfortunately, we haven't understood anything of it).

Hier ist Majorin Christina Vauhkula gerade bei der Predigt. Ihr Thema war "Wo ist der Spatz?" und sie machte uns in ihrer Predigt klar, dass wir für Gott mehr wert sind als Spatzen.
Here you see Major Christina Vaukula at her message. She was preaching about "where is the sparrow?" and she emphasized, that for God we are more worth than sparrows.

Am Nachmittag gab es unter anderem einen Tanz unseres Jugendchors zu "Joyful, joyful" und einen Solotanz von Emma. In the afternoon, there was among other a dance of our youth choir ("joyful, joyful") and a Solo dance of Emma.

Freiversammlung / Open-Air

Wir haben heute mit unserem schwedisch-lettischen (hi Intars *g*) Helfer-Team eine Freiversammlung in der Innenstadt gehabt. Obwohl gleichzeitig ein Spiel übertragen wurde, sind doch immer wieder Leute bei den Liedern, Interviews und Musikstücken stehengeblieben.

Today, we had an open-air meeting with our swedish-latvian (hi Intars *g*) Service Team in the city. Although there was a game broadcast at the same time, people stopped and listened to the songs, the interviews and the music pieces.
